VISA REQUIREMENTS
From the 1st of January 2005 anyone wishing to study in United Kingdom must enrol in a school or university which is included in the Register of Education and Training Providers.
You can check if the institute you have chosen is registered by the UK government by visiting the following web site: Department for Education & Skills - Providers' Register

ALREADY STUDYING IN THE UK
About Extending your visa
AS from April 1st 2005, the Home Office increased the cost of applications to extend Visa stay in the UK.
Postal applications cost £250 (increased from £155)
Premium Service (going to Croydon) cost £500 (increased from £250)

Working While Studying
If you are studying full time in the UK, you can work for 20 hours in term-time and full-time during the holidays.
During holidays you can work full-time (35 hours a week).

How much can I earn?
There is a minimum wage system in the UK. New rates applies as from October 1st 2004.
Age 18- 21 earns up to £4.10 per hour.
Age Over 22 earns up to £4.85 per hour
Although how much you earn will depend on the kind of work that you do, but many students in the UK earn around the minimum wage in part-time jobs.
