London Underground

We are just over the road from Thornton Heath Station (see above map). Thornton Heath Station is a london overground station. The best way to get to Thornton Heath is to get a train from London Victoria Station or to travel south on the Northert line to Balham. Here you can transfer to London overground, again getting a train which stops at Thornton Heath. Maps of both the London Underground and Overground can be accessed here: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/1106.aspx. There are also large maps located in all stations. Some practical advice when travelling on the Underground:

  • If asking people for help/directions concerning the Underground, remember they are more likely to call it by its informal name, "The Tube."
  • Escalators – Always stand on the right, and walk on the left.
  • Corridors – Always keep to the left, except where there are signs saying otherwise.

Buses

There are a large number of buses which travel to Thornton Heath Station. The main ones are: Bus No:50,250,450,198

Taxis

If all else fails, then you can get a Black Cab. These can be hailed down from most main streets in Central London, or from outside stations. Beware though, this is the most expensive way to travel, and is best to use only for relatively short distances (2-3 miles or less).

It is also important that you ONLY GET IN A TAXI WHERE THE DRIVER'S LICENCE IS CLEARLY DISPLAYED. Only use the distinctive Black Cabs; do not hail down any other type of taxi.
